IEW Following Narnia, Vol. 1 The Lion's Song, teacher: Emily Berry

Suggested text: 9781623412388, C.S. Lewis books: The Magician's Nephew. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. (any version written by C.S. Lewis is fine)

In this two semester class, students will read and write about Narnia while they learn to write with the IEW Structure and Style writing method. Throughout the course of the school year, students will learn note making and outlines, writing from notes, retelling narrative stories, summarizing references, writing from pictures, summarizing multiple references, inventive writing, formal essay models, and formal critique. 

*This class will follow the same reading schedule as the 7th-8th grade literature class which allow students who enroll in both classes the opportunity to reinforce understanding through both literary analysis and writing.
